I decided to write this blog to be a guide for those who are living in Berlin, thinking of moving to Berlin or just visiting with kids! I'm including our fun ideas, some important tips (that we have learnt along the way) and sharing a little of our adventure with others! I am trying to include things that I wanted to know before we arrived so if anyone has questions, please let me know!

Berlin's Lakes- Müggelsee
Wow, today is one of my favourite days to tell you about!!! Berlin in the summer is absolutely GLORIOUS! Really, the weather is lovely and there are so many lovely places to discover! Berlin has thousands of lakes, so after a little research we decided to visit Rübezahl am Müggelsee. It took just over an hour from where we live because we decided to go by bus, this means we can see everything on our way there. Public transportation is fantastic, so where one bus finished we only waited 5 mins for the next bus to pass by. As the bus went on its journey you could see the people getting on the bus who were going to the same place as we were. It was a a fun journey and the kids did really well, because they were excited about what we were going to see. We ourselves didn't really know for sure what we were going to find, but that's part of the excitement!
So we got off the bus and walked down to the lake. It was simply beautiful! The day was 30 degrees, sun shining -just perfect for a day at the lake. There was a fantastic playground for the kids, a lovely 'biergarten', a boat rental and a huge forest to explore. As we usually do with day trips we took our picnic, which was just perfect!
When we got there the boats were all rented, so we decided to go for our picnic first and then try back later for the pedal boat!! Great decision!!!

Walking through the forest to find our picnic spot
We found a great private spot right next to the lake
Dessert...the best part of the picnic
I must say they were very brave hahahaha
When we had finished our picnic we went to get our pedal boat and bonus we got the one with the slide!
the kids loved the slide and did go down a few times!

a little cold, Darling? hahahaha
After an hour of pedaling we headed back to 'land' and then it was time to explore the playground!
Seriously, my kids are like little monkeys..they love climbing!!
The day was simply perfect, so much fun, so many new things to see and do! To top of the day an ice cream-
The whole outing only cost €14- €10 to rent the boat for an hour and €1 for each ice cream!
There are thousands of more lakes to explore...
EXCITING!
